The LearnBalance Group’s latest project focuses on English language acquisition for children aged between 5 and 12 years old.
Vision
We aspire to provide a long-term solution to the fundamental problems in English language learning and development faced by Thai children today through:
- creating positive attitudes in language learning and development;
- finding the most effective and appropriate teaching/training techniques for the target group; and
- providing the skills necessary for the children to continue to improve their English after they complete their courses at our school.

RICH: The Heart of Hippo Campus
Reinforcement
Reinforcement plays a very important role in teaching English in an EFL environment. We use songs, associated actions, stories and various activities in class to make English memorable. We also provide supplementary materials to be used in the home environment in order that the children can continue their learning outside the classroom.
Integration
For our purposes, the meaning of integration is two-fold. Firstly, in order to produce a curriculum that is stimulating and practical, we strive to make English a part of the children’s lives as much as possible. We carefully select materials that are related to the children’s immediate environment and interests as well as language which is ready for use in everyday situations they are likely to encounter.
Secondly, integration refers to the eclectic approach to language teaching we adopt. Hippo Campus draws on various language teaching methodologies which ensure that our class activities cater for the different learning styles.
Consistency
Establishing learning routines in and outside class is crucial. The consistency in class structure enables a child to become aware of what takes place at each stage, prepare themselves mentally and physically to learn and draw their attention to the learning focus at the time. Consistency provides the child with the sense of security and lessens the fear of the foreign language. In this respect, we also encourage the parents to participate in our suggested learning routines at home.
Happiness
Hippo Campus aims to provide a learning environment which promotes happiness and a desire to learn. It is our belief that the joy of learning the children experience at our school will motivate them to continue their language development after they leave us and help them become lifelong learners in their future. |
